Description
This would be a perfect gift to decorate a cabin or for a bird hunting reserve.
I made the piece to capture the sky and wind I choose different colors of blue and cut the glass in different shapes. The different colors of green and gray portray the terrain that is never flat where we hunt.
Size 10 1/4 wide x 9″ tall
- I do use solder that contains 60% lead and 40% tin.
- Care – the lead will tarnish from time to time. Simply take steel wool and gently rub the soldier to brighten it back up. Use furniture polish to protect and shine.
So how do I make them?
I make limited-edition items based on the glass available to me. Once I decide what a piece of glass will become, the pattern is marked on the glass. The glass is then cut, ground, and cleaned. Next, the pieces are foiled, and the assembly process of soldering the item together can begin. Some items are more complex than others and take longer, but once the piece is “done” it is then cleaned again, sealed, and polished before making its way here.
