Description
This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. It would be a great gift for a duck hunter or keep for yourself.
I used shades of green for the cattail plant and ground around the water. I cut the glass around the duck to make it look like the water was moving away.
I would strongly recommend hanging this by hooks that screw into the window trim. Suction cups will let go of the window at some point.
Size – 15″ tall x 16″wide
- I do use solder that contains 60% lead and 40% tin.
- Care – the lead will tarnish from time to time. Simply take steel wool and gently rub the soldier to brighten it back up. Use furniture polish to protect and shine.
So how do I make them?
I make limited-edition items based on the glass available to me. Once I decide what a piece of glass will become, the pattern is marked on the glass. The glass is then cut, ground, and cleaned. Next, the pieces are foiled, and the assembly process of soldering the item together can begin. Some items are more complex than others and take longer, but once the piece is “done” it is then cleaned again, sealed, and polished before making its way here.
