Siblings Chrystina and Luis started Gaia Bare Care out of an absolute co-obsession with awesome skin care services and products in the beautiful Mississippi River town of Dubuque, Iowa. They believe that the power behind looking and feeling great spills positively into all the other areas of life, making being alive, simply put, better.

From operating Gaia Waxing Studio in Dubuque, IA for the last 9 years, the Gaia team experienced and heard the skincare woes of hair removal clients and products on the market just weren’t cutting it. Anything they found to be effective was filled with harsh ingredients or just plain unsafe with continued use. So they took everything they knew about skincare, essential oils and formulating from Chrystina’s Esthetics education, Luis’s background in Massage Therapy, and his own cologne line, and their Mom’s extensive knowledge in and experience with essential oils and Gaia Bare Care was born.

So while couture clothing may not be necessary for everyone, couture skincare is non-negotiable. You’re busy. We. Get. It. That’s why we created our whole business model around time efficiency. Not only do our waxing services, on average, require about half the time of a traditional waxing appointment, but our product line was built on simplicity. Why overcomplicate when Gaia herself gave us pretty much everything we need to nourish our skin perfectly? Here’s our philosophy behind everything we do and offer: simple ingredients, simple application, supple skin. You won’t find nasty, harmful, carcinogenic ingredients here. If we wouldn’t put it on our daughters, we wouldn’t put it on you. We value you too much for that b.s. And besides that, how will we dominate our futures if we’re consistently getting sick from the ungodly chemicals in mainstream products? No thanks. Nope. We’re not down with that. We want to set you up to feel like you can take over the world, not get stuck under the weight of it.
