The Dessert Mixologist

Our story began as sorority sisters at the University Of Northern Iowa and has grown into a lifelong friendship. Over the years, we, (Rae Guillermo and Lorrie Popik), got together with our other sorority “besties” for Girl’s Weekends, Homecoming, and many other events, which always involved great food, amazing drinks, tons of laughter, and the joy of creating wonderful lasting memories. After successful careers in the food industry for Rae and the retail and wireless industry for Lorrie, we asked ourselves, “What if we could start a business to let others share life’s special moments and celebrations together like we had all these years?” We love specially crafted cocktails and delicious desserts, but there was nothing in the market that combined our two favorite things. So, with our wealth of experience in the food and business industries combined with our passion for baking, a simple idea to create a decadent dessert with a twist was born.

The Dessert Mixologist are our pre-packaged dessert mixes artfully crafted with plant-based ingredients, free of artificial flavors and colors and when combined with a couple simple ingredients plus the alcohol of your choice, you will have a one of a kind decadent dessert in less than 8 minutes. There is nothing like our product on the market and our one-of-a-kind mixes in chocolate and vanilla inspire you to create to be your own mixologist with a few simple ingredients that’s convenient, easy and delicious with a fun, boozy twist. Our product is perfect for a hostess gift, housewarming gift, birthday, Girl’s Weekend or when you need to bring something fun and decadent to your next gathering.

We’re not only an Iowa based and produced company, but we also support a cause that has touched us personally. Life has also brought us together to honor our “besties” from our sorority and a family member that have passed on way too early from leukemia and lymphoma. As a result of these diseases touching us personally, we are donating a portion of our profits as part of our mission to support research efforts to find a cure. We’re including a link on our website to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society for those who would like to donate in helping find a cure.
